Meet Maria
My love for linen began with the first handmade linen skirt that I was making as part of a school creative assignment in 9th grade. My mother mentioned what an amazing and durable fabric linen is, and my great grandmother and grandmother were making beautiful Ukrainian traditional linen "rushnyks" and shirts crafted with hand embroidery.
I would like to create a brand that would be good for people and the environment, a brand that would have a social purpose, and create a meaningful possession one can pass down to others. Every year I use my festive linen tablecloth and napkins when I have my friends around for dinner. I am proud to say that it is aging well at about 11 years old, with no signs of wear and tear and I hope that one day my son will inherit it to use for his dinners with friends.
The future of linen is bright, as more people recognize it is a durable, long-lasting, environmentally friendly fabric with unique properties that cannot be replicated.
